The Jason Lewis for Congress campaign today announced the endorsement of former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty in the race for Minnesota’s Second Congressional District.
“I have known Jason a long time,” said Pawlenty. “He will be a strong voice for our district and he will help reduce wasteful spending and hold government accountable.”
Tim Pawlenty served as the 39th Governor of Minnesota from 2003-2011.
“I am honored to have the endorsement of Governor Pawlenty,” said Lewis. “Given the uncontrolled spending under the current administration in St. Paul, as well as the MNsure healthcare mess, Minnesotans clearly miss the leadership of Tim Pawlenty. Pawlenty fought for Minnesota families as our governor and I am proud to have his confidence and support. Given the challenges we are facing because of failed liberal policies, now more than ever we need strong, independent leaders who are willing to take on the tough challenges. That’s the kind of leadership you’ll get with me as your next member of Congress.”
Jason Lewis spent 25 years on the air as an independent voice in the national political conversation, talking with Minnesotans and Americans about solutions to our greatest problems. An active Minnesota resident for two decades, Lewis’ mother was born and raised in North Minneapolis and his wife Leigh is a St. Paul native. They have two daughters. Jason is also an author, public speaker, and started his career running Lewis Motor Supply, a small family business founded by his grandfather. Lewis won his competitive, multi-candidate primary contest with 49% of the vote share on August 9, 2016.
