Alpha News today released the following story noting Angie Craig’s refusal to debate next Monday in Minnesota’s Second District.

People living in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District are getting denied the chance to compare the Republican and Democratic candidates vying to replace retiring US Representative John Kline (R-MN02) in a debate due to one of the candidates refusing to attend.

Democratic candidate Angie Craig is refusing to attend a debate hosted by the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce on Monday, October 17th. This move comes after Craig also refused to attend a debate hosted by the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Craig’s opponent, Republican Jason Lewis, agreed to attend and participate in both debates.

Angie Craig has continued to dodge debate opportunities in District 2, skipping next Monday’s scheduled event in order to raise money from D.C. liberal Nancy Pelosi.

Jason Lewis spent 25 years on the air as a voice in the national political conversation, talking with Minnesotans and Americans about solutions to our greatest problems. An active Minnesota resident for two decades, he and his wife Leigh have two young daughters, Lindsey and Lauren. Jason is also an author, public speaker, and started his career running Lewis Motor Supply, a small family business founded by his grandfather. Lewis won his competitive, multi-candidate primary contest with 49% of the vote share on August 9, 2016.
