Eagan, MN – Jason for Lewis Campaign Manager Becky Alery released the following statement regarding the endorsement of Angie Craig:
“Over the past few months, we’ve disagreed with Jeff Erdmann’s positions on hot topic issues so important to the cornerstone of his progressive campaign. But few could argue his stances, almost Wellstonian, were anything but forthright and honest. His opponent, Angie Craig, on the other hand, has continued her Clintonesqe campaign by deliberately remaining silent. While there were few similarities between Erdmann and Congressman Jason Lewis’ views, one can respect that both candidates are willing to say where they stand whether you like it or not.
“Unfortunately, running on principles was not enough for Erdmann, and today, the Second District DFL officially rubber-stamped former lobbyist and the DCCC & Washington elite’s candidate Angie Craig.
“While DFL delegates may have been able to look past the numerous unanswered questions of their newly endorsed candidate, the rest of the Minnesotans in the Second Congressional District are likely not as understanding.
“A candidate who claims she will talk to the people if elected is simply not good enough. If Craig believes she is the best person to represent the Second, she should have the courage to tell the voters where she stands and let them make the decision. It’s anyone’s guess why she won’t tell Second district voters where she stands but perhaps she’s just trying to keep her far-left, radical viewpoints under wraps for as long as possible.
“So, to assist Craig in her quest to be accessible to Minnesotans, here is a list of the top 10 questions she has refused to answer:
Bonus Question: Will Craig answer any of these questions that are important to the people she is hoping to represent in Congress? (hint: likely no)
“For some time, Angie Craig has been the Hillary Clinton of Minnesota. Saying one thing and doing another. Setting records for raising special interest PAC money (just look at her FEC reports) while continuing her facetious claim to support getting money out of politics? But now that Angie Craig is the DFL’s candidate, enough is enough and it’s time for the former lobbyist to once and for all come clean. Minnesotans deserve answers.”
