RELEASE: ENDORSEMENT FROM CONGRESSMAN TOM EMMER

May 24, 2016

Jason Lewis, the Republican Party of Minnesota’s endorsed candidate for Congress, is proud to announce the endorsement of Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) in the race for Minnesota’s Second Congressional District.

The endorsement of Congressman Tom Emmer is another sign of the growing strength of Jason Lewis’ campaign. Congressman Emmer joins the Republican Party of Minnesota, 15 current and former state legislators and several key leaders who have endorsed the campaign. Jason Lewis continues to demonstrate he is the only candidate who can unite the entirety of the Republican Party and build a critical grassroots and leadership team that will allow him to take on and defeat radical Democrat Angie Craig in the fall.

Congressman Emmer issued the following statement in regard to his endorsement:“Jason Lewis is the strongest conservative in this race and has publicly stood up and fought for solutions to our nation’s biggest fiscal issues for 25 years. Jason not only has a command of the issues, but a solutions-based platform that will draw a very sharp contrast with liberal Angie Craig, and improve the economic future for the hardworking families and citizens of Minnesota. I am proud to join the delegates of Minnesota’s Second Congressional District and endorse Jason in his race. I encourage Republicans to continue to line up behind his candidacy so we can take on and defeat Angie Craig, who will seek to continue and expand upon the liberal Obama agenda.”

In response to Congressman Emmer’s endorsement, Jason Lewis shared the following comments:

“It is truly an honor to have Congressman Tom Emmer’s support in this critical race for Minnesota and America’s future. I’ve had the pleasure of personally knowing Congressman Emmer for well over a decade, and I can tell you he is a fighter for free market policies with a proven conservative record in Congress. For example, right now he is leading the fight to repeal Dodd-Frank’s most onerous regulations on small community banks. Tom Emmer is an exemplary Minnesotan, and we are proud to have him on our team.”

Jason Lewis spent 25 years on the air as a voice in the conservative movement. An active Minnesota resident for two decades, he and his wife Leigh have two young daughters. Jason organized the first annual tax rally that has become a tradition in St. Paul, with thousands gathering to fight to keep more of what they earn. Jason is also an author, public speaker, and started his career as a business owner running Lewis Motor Supply, a small business founded by his grandfather.

Lewis has been endorsed by the Republican Party of Minnesota, the Freedom Club, the Powerline Blog, State Senator Dan Hall, State Senator Karin Housley, State Senator Eric Pratt, State Senator Dave Thompson, State Representative Tony Albright, State Representative Matt Dean, State Representative Steve Drazkowski, State Representative Kelly Fenton, State Representative Jon Koznick, State Representative Kathy Lohmer, State Representative Bob Loonan, State Representative Linda Runbeck, State Representative Bob Vogel, 2014 Gubernatorial candidate Jeff Johnson, U of MN Board of Regents and former State Representative Laura Brod, South St. Paul Councilman Bill Flatley, former MNGOP Chair Bill Cooper, former candidate for Governor and CEO of Celcuity Brian Sullivan, 2nd Amendment advocate Dr. John Lott, 2008 national delegate and veteran Chris Andryski, retired Army Captain and Iraq War veteran Jake Duesenberg, U.S. Air Force Veteran Nathan Krogstad, United States Marine Corps Veteran Greg OConnor and County Commander Ty Sheridan.
