Eagan, MN – Today, Congressman Jason Lewis sent a letter to his opponent Angie Craig inviting her to participate in a series of debates prior to the 2018 election.
In 2016, Jason Lewis and Angie Craig participated in three debates. This year, Congressman Lewis hoped to participate in a series of public debates focusing on the issues important to Minnesota’s Second Congressional District and the future of this country.
The letter reads:
Dear Ms. Craig,
As candidates for Congress in Minnesota, it is our job to tell the voters where we stand and lay out our respective visions for the future of our great state and the country as a whole. The people we seek to represent deserve no less. While I have clearly stated my positions on everything from tax and regulatory relief to the Enbridge pipeline to a complete government takeover of medicine, you have not.
Therefore, I propose making that possible with a series of one hour debates on the key issues of the day with, of course, a neutral host or one moderator of each candidate’s choosing.
I invite you to join me in five debates between now and Election Day in order to help let the people decide who will best represent their views in Congress. As mentioned, I propose that each debate focuses on a key topic important to the voters in Minnesota’s Second District, as detailed below:
Taxes, Jobs and the Economy
Government Regulations & Minnesota Competitiveness
Education and Workforce Development
Immigration, National Security & Public Safety
Health Care
Our campaign is looking forward to working with yours to find times, dates and places that work for both of our schedules. Please contact my Campaign Manager Becky Alery at 763-360-1711 or [email protected] to discuss dates and times.
Sincerely,
Jason Lewis
