Jason Lewis for Congress Campaign Manager Becky Alery released the following statement:
“A lot has been made of whether the DNC rigged the nomination process for Hillary Clinton and seems like the DCCC decided to follow suit right here in Minnesota’s 2ndCongressional District by backing failed congressional candidate Angie Craig over Jeff Erdmann.
“Over the summer, the Erdmann campaign saw the writing on the wall as to how national Democrats were working to set the stage for Minnesota’s own Hillary, Angie Craig.
“First, the DCCC failed to return calls to the Erdmann campaign. Then blessed Erdmann and staff with a whopping eight-minute meeting that the chairman couldn’t even be bothered to travel a few flights downstairs to attend. All this to back Craig, a candidate called, ‘…objectively, the least inspiring candidate up and down the ballot…’
“It seems the Erdmann campaign is feeling the Craig hypocrisy we saw regularly last cycle as the same Democrats who claim to be working to get money out of politics seem more interested in someone who can raise money than someone to represent their values. A feature Craig certainly fulfills with her expertise running her company’s PAC 2012. Erdmann’s Campaign Manager went as far to say, ‘If your goal is to get money out of politics, how in the f*** — I’m sorry, how in the hell are you backing someone who ran a corporate PAC?’
“In 2016, the country made it clear they didn’t want Hillary, and this year Minnesota will (once again) make it clear they don’t want Angie Craig.”
