Jan 22, 2018Regarding the shutdown of the federal government due to political gamesmanship, Jason Lewis for Congress Campaign Manager Becky Alery released the following statement.
“While Congressman Jason Lewis joins his Republican colleagues in the House to fund the government and reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Angie Craig vows to help her Democrats prevent sound reforms to move this country forward.
“If Craig had her way, she would have joined her colleagues to shut the government down leaving millions of children without health insurance and our military more vulnerable than ever. Less than a week ago, Craig said she would serve as a roadblock if she gets to Washington. The current shutdown makes it clear we have more than enough people in Washington intent on putting political games above the American people and do not need another.
“To add to her promise of being against reforms and progress in Washington, Craig has resorted to lying to the Minnesotans she claims she wants to trust her in Congress.
“Rest assured, Congressman Jason Lewis is still in Washington, patiently waiting for Democrats to do their job. Until then, you can thank Democrats like Craig in Washington who chose to put up roadblocks and use our children’s health insurance as a bargaining chip rather than work towards real solutions.”
