Eagan, MN – Jason Lewis for Congress Campaign Manager Becky Alery released the following statement regarding the Senate hearings on Judge Kavanaugh:
“The week after August recess has started off with much fanfare surrounding the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings in DC. What we have seen thus far is resistance, protests, obstruction, and roadblocks from the Democrats – activists and Senators alike.
“Despite the fact that Kavanaugh has received the highest rating by the American Bar Association, turned over more documents than anyone else and has more than 300 opinions available after he was approved for the lower court, Democrats are intent on making his hearing a spectacle rather than productive conversation on Kavanaugh’s qualifications to serve on the Supreme Court
“So much in fact that at yesterday’s hearing, 70 people were arrested for their disruptions while the Democrat Senators interrupted more than 60 times. Apparently, this outrageous display of obstructionism was orchestrated during a weekend conference call with Democrat Senators plotting how they can best cause a scene.

“Unfortunately for them, distraction and obstruction are not what the American people are looking for. A recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll states that the number one worry if Democrats were to gain control of Congress, would be the increased gridlock in Washington & nothing getting done.
“Here in Minnesota, we know a halt to work and more gridlock would be the case with Angie Craig. At a forum earlier this year, Craig told the audience that she believes, if elected, her role would be to serve as ‘a roadblock to all the things and the progress this administration is trying to undo.’
“Americans want progress and that is what they’ve gotten from Jason Lewis and his work in the 115th Congress. In his first term, Lewis has passed legislation to bring local control back to the Met Council, allocate funding for Career and Technical Education, and reform our broken criminal justice system.
“With Jason Lewis, you get results. With Angie Craig, all you will get is resistance.”
