May 13, 2016 – Cottage Grove, MN… Jason Lewis, the Republican Party of Minnesota’s endorsed candidate for Congress in the 2nd Congressional District was endorsed today by Jeff Johnson.
Johnson was Senator Marco Rubio’s Minnesota Chairman, is a Hennepin County Commissioner, a former committeeman for the RNC, 2014 Republican nominee for Governor and served in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Johnson offered the following remarks about his endorsement for Jason Lewis,“Jason Lewis is both a principled conservative and a truly substantive policy mind. For those of us who desire our congressional representatives to focus on ideas and substance rather than rhetoric and politics, Jason’s the guy. I enthusiastically support his candidacy for Minnesota’s 2nd district.”
In response to Johnson’s endorsement, Lewis stated “It’s a boon to our campaign to be endorsed by Jeff Johnson. Jeff is a tremendous statewide leader in the Republican Party of Minnesota and we are honored to have his support. We will continue to build ‘Team Lewis,’ bringing together the full spectrum of the Republican Party in order to gear up for a very competitive race against radical liberal, Angie Craig, who has the backing of the Democrat national machine.”
Jason Lewis spent 25 years on the air as a voice in the conservative movement. An active Minnesota resident for two decades, he and his wife Leigh have two young daughters. Jason organized the first annual tax rally that has become a tradition in St. Paul, with thousands gathering to fight to keep more of what they earn. Jason is also an author, public speaker, and started his career as a business owner running Lewis Motor Supply, a small business founded by his grandfather.
